JWIT helps Judaic Studies teachers create web-based learning materials that can be used by Judaic Studies students nationally and internationally.

Based on the highly successful Web Institute for Teachers, JWIT:

bullet

Increases the capacity of its participants to use the Web as an effective resource and medium for teaching and learning;

bullet

Creates a national cohort of Judaic Studies teachers who will work together into the future to improve the capacity of their schools and programs to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning;

bullet

Teaches participants to create and maintain a webquest related to Judaic Studies

JWIT is sponsored by the Associated Talmud Torahs ( ATT) of Chicago’s Morris and Rose Goldman Computer Department for Jewish Studies, the Lookstein Center for Jewish Education in the Diaspora at Bar Ilan University in Israel, and the Walder Foundation for Learning and Development. Additional partners of the program are the Board of Jewish Education of Greater New York and JESNA (Jewish Education Service of North America).
